And there is more to the travellers than meets the eye - one of them is a former British army officer who fought alongside Hector in the Falklands War... Then (as so often happens to Barnaby and Troy) another dead body is found, this time that of an old man at the travellers' camp.Meanwhile, Barnaby is not feeling in full fighting trim for murder investigations, as Joyce has put him on a strict diet to lose weight.

Meredith begins a seige at the courthouse, where the town's residents inside say a gunwomen is holding them hostage. Laura stays in her office thinking it is real while Karen, Angus, Max and a small group of our favourite's sit in the courtroom enjoying a sing-a-long. When the demands are met, the only problem is to get away with it. Karen decides to leave Pearl Bay and travel, much to Angus' dismay. Phrani and Kevin become closer and Bob and Bucket blow up the bridge. The town waits for the aftermath, not sure what it will mean

Ra's al Ghul and his Society of Shadows arrive in Metropolis to steal a mythical staff currently on exhibit. The staff can be used to steal Superman's powers and transfer them to Ra's. It is up to Batman to locate and rescue Superman from the immortal foe.

A speed enhancing fluid deemed Sonic Tonic is created by Robotnik to make him as fast as Sonic so that he may finally catch him. Robinik's plan is successful and Sonic is captured, yet when Dingo begins to feel the side effects of the tonic, Sonic is able to make a run for it with a vial of the tonic in tow. Unaware of the side effects of the tonic, Manic and Sonia, envious of Sonic's speed, decide to use the tonic on themselves.
