With a well earned vacation disturbed by the arrest of a hardened criminal, Matt and Kitty head back to Dodge. The stage they are on is sabotaged and end up wrecking. Kitty is quick witted enough to switch identities between Matt and the prisoner before the outlaws get to them. Thinking Dillon is dying and Matt is really Monk Wiley, they go on planning to extort money from Dodge to get Dillon back alive.
Opie has a really big crush on classmate Mary Alice Carter, but she has her eyes on hunk Fred Simpson. When Opie asks her to the dance, she says yes, not thinking Fred will ask her. When Fred asks her, she immediately says yes and has to think of a way to tell Opie she can't go with him. Unable to fight on two fronts -- against Mexican marauders and the Indians -- John arranges a defense agreement with his neighbor in Mexico, Don Sebastian Montoya. The Mexican insists that John seal the agreement by marrying Victoria, his daughter, thus solidifying an alliance against the Apache. Moreover, Don Sebastian demands that Victoria's carefree brother, Manolito, come along to guarantee her safety.

On a blistering hot afternoon, Peter is walking to the house of a brilliant scientist, Doctor Smartyr, when suddenly he notices that the sidewalk, and most of the neighborhood, is turning to ice. Hearing desperate cries for help from Smartyr's house, Peter changes into Spider-Man and breaks through a laboratory window to find the frightened scientist being menaced by a towering ice creature.
Teenage photographer Peter Parker is sent by the Daily Bugle to investigate a series of mystery lights in a wooded area outside of the city, when a sudden landslide forces him to swerve off the road and land in a tree.
Dr. Smith answers a distress call from an alien space ship. He arrives there using the Space Pod, and discovers that the aliens want him to operate on (actually, repair), their leader. It turns out that the aliens are a race of some sort of robot that survive as long as their leader, who functions as their central control timepiece, is in working order. The Robinsons come to Smith's rescue in the Jupiter II. The leader is repaired by the robot, and the extended space family Robinson leave the alien space ship safely.
