Dominic's school holds their annual Olympics, making Greg a very happy man since the Hughes will be out of the house for two consecutive weekends. But after Dominic bombs at every single event the first weekend -- and wins a bunch of consolation prize trophies just for participating -- Jimmy is far from happy that the school rewards losers, giving Dominic no motivation to get better. Dominic is crushed after he overhears his father badmouthing him to the other adults for winning a bunch of ""garbage trophies"" Jimmy feels he didn't deserve. Realizing he acted exactly like his father would, Jimmy decides to make it up to Dominic by giving him extra encouragement the next weekend. Although Dominic doesn't win, he comes in third place in one event, then tells Jimmy that he spent the week practicing in hopes of improving, because the trophies he won were garbage. Season 1, Episode 12
Horatio and Speedle investigate the slaying of a hooker who is found dead under a bed in a plush beachside cottage, her naked body having been stabbed 23 times. But the crime scene yields few traces of blood because the killer bathed the victim in the cottage's tub with cardamom soap. Across town at an urban gas station, Calleigh and Delko attempt to uncover why a German tourist was gunned down in an apparent carjacking. They learn that a masked assailant approached a vacationing couple's rental car, shot and killed the husband, but left the wife unharmed and then fled the scene.

Eric gives Annie his manuscript to read but she's not happy to learn that he's been spending his time writing smut instead of his comeback sermon for the church. Meanwhile, Simon and Cecilia discuss having sex for the first time and naively share the news with their parents---which doesn't go to well when Cecilia's father finds out. Lastly, Lucy sets out to spy on Roxanne and Chandler on their first date.

McKinley High is taking the PSAT's and every student is doing their best to prepare for the test. Nicole starts to go all out and she gives Breanna many studying tools to prepare for it, but Breanna doesen't take the PSAT's seriously. After taking the PSAT's the results come on Parent Teacher Night. By the time Flex and Nicole get to Breanna's teacher to learn about her results they discover that Breanna scored the lowest in the state. They ask her why and Breanna says she scored that score because she just wrote down anything. She doesen't want to go to college because she wants to become an actor. Flex and Nicole then come up with an ingenious plan to show Breanna the error of her ways. It works and when Breanna retakes the test she gets the highest score in the state. Meanwhile Duane tries to give his apartment door an artistic decor but the landlord refuses to let him keep it.

Nikki and Andell get excited about the possibility of becoming sisters when Nikki's biological father and Andell's mother start dating, but when the fledgling romance goes sour, it causes a rift between the two friends. Meanwhile, Alan returns to Kim a changed man.

Ms. Edna Krabappel begins to lose faith in her relationship with Principal Skinner and becomes depressed. Bart wants to cheer her up and decides to nominate her for the Teacher of the Year Award. Ms. Krabappel and the Simpsons are given a free trip to Epcot Center in Orlando, Florida. Skinner decides that he needs to do something to win Edna back, so he follows them there. He tries to sabotage Edna's chances of winning the award, in hopes that she will become so depressed that she will come back to him. However, he has a change of heart and proposes to her.

Snake has a bachelor party in which Joey invited a stripper. Emma catches J.T. and Toby spying on ""Fancy"" outside Joey's window on her way to tell Snake about the baby. Spike finds out that Emma told Snake, and they end up having a long discussion that makes them late for the wedding. The wedding goes on, and so does the reception afterward. Emma makes up with Sean and they kiss in the end.

Meanwhile, Hal takes up speed walking and is desperate to be the best while Reese gets Craig to take him and Allison to a concert and almost ruins his date.

The Beatles' arrival in America sends the country and the Pryor household into a frenzy, except for a concerned JJ, who receives word that Notre Dame has denied him a full scholarship. Determined to afford his son's college education, Jack seeks financial help from his successful and slightly distant older brother Ted despite Pete and Helen's concerns. Ted offers to pay for J.J. first year in South Bend in exchange for 50% ownership in the shop. Meanwhile, a confused Meg attempts to classify her relationship with Luke, employing Roxanne's ""perfect plan"", which is to simply have Luke introduce himself as Meg's boyfriend, to determine if the record store clerk is in fact her boyfriend. Patty's put in a tough position when she has to teach Will, the twleve apostles or not get to watch the Beattles on Ed Sullivan that night.
