Miss Piggy hires Scooter to pay off the audience to go wild for her. She also has him send her dozens of bouquets and write her piles of fan mail, all part of an attempt to get Kermit to notice her more. Piggy and Scooter stage a conversation for Kermit to overhear, in which she pretends to have an offer from another show, but Kermit isn't fooled. After finding out from Scooter what's really going on, he tells Piggy he's heard about her offer and has decided to let her go. When she breaks down in tears, sobbing that she can't leave him, Kermit agrees to take her back, but at a lower salary. After all, if she can afford to have Scooter pay off the audience for her... Miss Piggy gets hysterical and depressed, but is refreshed by Dom DeLuise.

Always looking for opportunities to make money, Ponch discovers that Jon once worked as an instructor in a bowling alley and still is a great bowler. Keeping Jon's secret from the other CHiPs, Ponch places a series of bets that his partner will defeat all favorites in an upcoming police bowling tournament. As the officers approach a car that went through a stop sign, they get a surprise. The driver is actor Broderick Crawford, who starred as Dan Mathews in Highway Patrol, the hit 1950s series that could be called the ancestor of CHiPs.

Over the course of time they learn to respect each other's beliefs. Tom gets the wrong idea when he spots Mary and Richard in a hug. Tommy helps Nicholas deal with a school bully. Another of Tommy's money making schemes backfires.

A British bomber crash lands somewhere outside Brussels, its entire crew is apparently dead. Kessler takes this as an opportunity to infiltrate Lifeline and assigns Ernst Stoller, an officer who was born and brought up in England, to substitute for one of the dead men. Meanwhile, Monique is becoming increasingly disillusioned with her life at the Candide and relationship with Albert, and finds herself letting her guard down when she becomes involved with Stoller as part of her Lifeline work.
