Sympathizing over Ben's heartfelt loss following Leslie Carrington's bitter assault on him, Blake meets with Leslie to persuade her to give Ben a second chance. Dana accepts Adam's marriage proposal. Upon learning the good news, Alexis is quick to begin planning the entire affair. Included in her plans is the possibility of causing a rift between Blake and Krystle by having the wedding in the Carrington mansion. Having had enough of her manipulation and lies, Dex informs a stunned Alexis that he is leaving her for good. Dominique and Nick fail to realize their need for each other. Dominique and Dex are drawn together for friendship and support. As Krystina's third birthday bash draws near, she suffers a serious loss of breath and is rushed to the hospital. Krystle and Blake wait helplessly as their little girl fights for her life.

When rat Chad starts seeing another girl, Samantha is so infuriated she demands the recording not take place. It takes a stellar performance of the song by Ray to make Samantha see that her friendship with Angela is more important than getting back at Chad.

Hack writer Peter, writing worse and worse vampire stories, buys a coffin for inspiration and finds it occupied by Count Draco. Peter manages to protect himself, and the two strike a deal: Draco will supply new inspiration based on his life experiences, and Peter will write the books. Peter becomes wealthy, but refuses to share the proceeds. With the aid of Peter's secretary, Draco manages to get the drop on the writer and kill him, and the vampire and secretary strike up a new arrangement.
