Claude sets out to work but the digger soon becomes jammed. Claude goes down in to the excavation to see what's wrong and ends up trapped on an unexploded bomb. The army is brought in to diffuse the bomb and the police have to evacuate the whole village. One woman protests to leaving as a man has died in her bed and its not her husband. One little boy is missing, but Nick finds him hiding in a shed, unfortunately the bomb goes off causing the shed to collapse. Nick and the boy are fine but one soldier is killed.

MacLeod and Richie go after the murderer and discover he's Immortal Paul Kinman just as the police arrive and arrest him. MacLeod wants Kinman's head. Kinman killed MacLeod's good friend Dennis Keating when they were in the court of Queen Anne. FBI agent Kaayla Brooks asks MacLeod and Richie if they can testify against Kinman, but MacLeod refuses because he can't kill Kinman if Kinman's in jail.

Betty, Queen of the Ants, leads the ants of the City in revolt - it loses its major defender when the Tick is thoroughly creeped out and checks himself into Captain Sanity's Superhero Sanitarium. Betty and her minions capture the other heroes and lock them up in a giant People Farm, then collect enough glass to build a giant magnifying glass and use sunlight to fry them. Fortunately the Tick regains his (normal) sanity in the nick of time and saves the day.
