Marchette shows up at the beach apartment and tries to talk Toni out of the marriage. He refuses to attend the wedding, so Bruno gives her away. (Only Bruno and Brandon are allowed at the ceremony, but everyone comes to the reception.) The next day, Marchette asks Dylan to come over to accept a gift for Toni. Bruno finds out that Dylan is to be ambushed and killed, but can't reach him because the phone is off the hook. He turns to Brandon for help. Toni is upset when their cat, Trouble, turns up missing during a driving rainstorm. Dylan agrees to stay home and look for her while Toni meets her father. Because of the rain, the hit men cannot tell that Toni is driving Dylan's car.

Pursued by Arak's forces, the trio enters an icy region and stumbles upon a friendly Inuit tribe of the Igalaks led by wise Takanuk, who live in such total seclusion that they don't even know about the apocalypse or Kortan. Arak locates them, so Ramirez uses an ancient submarine that the Inuits have found in the ice to try to stop him.

Ellie tells Charlie that he's just like Gene, a dreamer, but he says he knows exactly where he is. Claudia doesn't like Griffin, so he tries to win her heart. Julia gets jealous and Griffin tells her that he misses a little sister, while Claudia develops a crush on him. Bailey gets 900 points at his SATs and his teacher offers him private lessons, flirting. He takes it again and make the same points. Charlie tells him how it was when their parents were still alive, so Bailey decides to apply for college, writing about his mom in his essay.
