Meanwhile, Faith secretly undergoes a procedure to determine if the lump in her breast is cancerous, leaving an unsuspecting Bosco assigned to a nervous rookie cop; Kim reluctantly consults a lawyer about Jimmy's intention to claim custody of Joey.

Since Greg and Kim plan to go away to see Greg's folks for Thanksgiving, Jimmy wants to invite his parents over to the Warner house. But Christine doesn't want his father there as all the man does is criticize his son. Jimmy feels he can impress his pop now because he's got a great job and family. Jimmy gets his wish; after the Warners leave, Big Jimmy and Kitty arrive. And they've brought company -- Aunt Betty, Grammy and cousin Neil the ex-con. But Big Jimmy is still not impressed and keeps criticizing Jimmy since Greg foots the bill for him and he bailed out of college. Meanwhile, a blizzard forces Greg and Kim to return home, and Greg prepares to go to bed, unaware Jimmy let Grammy sleep in his room. When he finds her there, he screams so loud that he kills her. Greg tells Kim, who dials 911, then wakes up Jimmy and Christine to break the bad news. They assume that Grammy passed away in her sleep -- which Greg plays along with. Event: GREECE 800 B.C. Sydney is grabbed by mysterious men, who lock a necklace on her. The next morning, under the influence of Carson Inez, she declares an indefinite leave of absence and departs for Greece with Inez. Karen and Nigel are shocked, and Nigel soon ascertains that the amulet has mind-control powers. He travels to Greece, where he finds that Sydney is willingly helping Carson to locate the tomb of Athena. Despite his best efforts, Sydney remains under Carson's thrall. Nigel is captured and reluctantly helps the two women. He later escapes, and Carson and Sydney make a try for the statue. Sydney realizes something is amiss and during moments of clarity manage to inscribe the incantation that binds the necklace wearer. Sent to kill Nigel, she manages to get it to him and he frees her. They capture Carson and avoid her men by putting her under the necklace's control.
