But her heart-to-heart with Maria only succeeds in making the dispute worse.

Host Kevin O'Connor arrives to find landscape contractor Roger Cook getting ready to install nine tons of rustic Pennsylvania fieldstone for the new entry walkway. Inside, general contractor Tom Silva shows Kevin how to recognize a quality cabinet, and they assemble the kitchen island that has been sent in pieces from the manufacturer. Upstairs, Kevin finds tile contractor Rob Raps working in the kids' bathroom to install the new black and white tile scheme. Then Kevin lends a hand while master carpenter Norm Abram boxes in the ceiling beams in the sunroom, finishing them off with crown moulding. In the front entry hall, Tom shows Kevin the interior MDF two-panel doors the architect has specified, as well as a beefier version for the front door, from the same manufacturer, just as it is being painted a color called "audacious" red.

Folk singers Mulligan and O'Hare sing a medley of moving Christmas songs, while Angelos tries to move in with one of the guests. Then, in a series first, Ronnie and Ricky go head to head in the final nailbiting challenge, competing in a race around the set.

The Royal Institution Christmas Lectures are a series of lectures on a single topic, which have been held at the Royal Institution in London each year since 1825. The lectures present scientific subjects to a general audience, including young people, in an informative and entertaining manner. Michael Faraday initiated the first Christmas Lecture series in 1825. This came at a time when organised education for young people was scarce. Faraday presented a total of nineteen series in all.

The plan was to promote the new book, but the trip soon turned into something much more for the Chapman family and their fans. Among the thousands of admirers greeting Dog and Beth at each stop, for some meeting Dog and Beth was their last dying wish. Others came to receive advice, hope and affirmation. Parents brought their troubled teens; many came to share stories of how Dog had inspired them to turn their lives around. As the book tour progressed, it quickly transformed into a crusade, a mission to help and honor those who struggle everyday to overcome the challenges that life has thrown in their way. It would also change Dog and Beth, and before they were done they would offer their public more than just compassion and wise words.
