Tetsunosuke has been ordered to deliver a letter for Hijikata. However, he's captured by the radical Joi Check It Out gang in the process. Tetsunosuke had concealed his identity to join the gang, but now they know that he has connections to the police. He's taken hostage as leverage over the Shinsengumi and Mimawarigumi. However, the Mimawarigumi shows no concern for the hostage and plots to place the blame squarely on the Shinsengumi. Hijikata and the other members are enraged after learning Isaburo's plans. The Shinsengumi and Mimawarigumi are now in an all-out fight.

Jack puts Jerry in the hospital by accidentally kicking him in the chest while getting ready for a speed board breaking competition. Eddie and Milton go to visit Jerry and wind up in the maternity ward where they mix up the babies. At first Jack quits the competition but Jerry will not hear of it. And across the mall Rudy wins a free-food-for-life contest at Falafel Phil's that was rigged to be unwinable, Falafel Phil must work fast to trick him out of the winnings.

Harry loses his cool with 3 swimmers that he's forced to rescue just seconds after warning them not to swim in a dangerous area. However, calling them "imbeciles" and "idiots" puts him in hot water.

In addition, he and House reach a fundamental disagreement about the patient that may finally end Chase's reputation as House's "yes man" but also bring's House's methods, reputation and objectivity are given more serious scrutiny.
